Julio Martinez Jr,Age 64, born in Baytown, July 02, 1948, was called home on November 24,2012 , now he is in Heaven joining his parents,Julio Martinez Sr.and Esther Martinez ;brothers,Jimmy Martinez ,Roy Martinez and wife Peggy Martinez.Julio Jr.as he as he was called by his family and friends.Julio Jr. is survived by his brother Arthur Martinez and wife Hilda Martinez, brother, Glenn Martinez ,all of Baytown,Tx.also survived by numerous of nieces,nephews and a host of friends.Family and friends will lovingly remember him from his love for his church and serving for as long as he was capable.After battling cancer,which was in remission,his last years were difficult with his disability and scars from that battle.Fast-pitch softball fans will remember him from his magnificent pitching ability.Julio Jr. played with numerous area teams during his teens;up until his late 30's.He fulfilled a life-time experience of being one of the youngest pitchers to pitch in a final national championship game and lost to the best.During the peak of his pitching career,he was sought after for his skill and was rated as one of the top pitchers in Texas.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 29,2012 at Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 7:00PM.
